French Curve
A French curve is a plastic, wooden or metal template having an edge composed of several different curves. French curves are used in drafting, designing and drawing curvature in mechanical drawings. This measuring tool is a must if you are a fan of curvy lines and such lines are a must when assembling DIY playhouses that look like pirate ships!
Flexible Curve
Flexible curve rulers are another curvy measuring tool, adjustable to give precise measurements on curved edges. Sometimes called a spline, this measuring tool flexes into all sorts of curvy shapes, giving you the freedom to create wavy lines almost anywhere on those playhouses you plan on building.
Protractors
Protractors are measuring tools used for measuring angles or circles. You may remember these from geometry class, you know, the little semi-circle things made from plastic? There are several different types of protractors, among them a beveled protractor, which features one or two swinging arms to more accurately measure the angle.
Incra T-rule
The Incra T-rule (aka T-square) comes in a variety of sizes for all different uses. Professional, Imperial, Metric, and Tiny (pocket size). The rule is made from stainless steel with Incra’s patented micro fine guide and height holes. A T-rule is a measuring tool that will assist you in marking precise lines in either direction, so that your cuts will be accurate.
Tri-square
A Tri-square is an L-shaped measuring tool that is fixed at a 90 degree or “right” angle. When you want to check if you have a piece squared up properly, this is the tool you are looking for.
